Squid 1.0.0 errors-Waitin on X FD's????

This is a portion of the cache log; debug highest on comm.c:
Running on a pentium 100+, freebsd 2.1.0;
I've looked around, but can't seem to figure it out; is this a normal
thing or is something going wrong? At debug level 2 I get the
waiting messages every second...
