cachemgr.cgi - documentation?

Is there any documentation for the cachemgr.cgi program? I've got
squid up and running on our system, but have had no luck in figuring
out how cachemgr.cgi works. (yes, it's in my cgi-bin, yes,
permissions appear to be set right) Any time I try to get any
information, I get this error message (with the url slightly
different, depending on which option I choose, of course):

   Access Denied

   Sorry, you are not currently allowed to request
       cache_object://proxy.link.ca/info

   From this cache. Please check with the cache administrator if you
   believe this is incorrect.

Considering that I'm the cache administrator, it's not a very helpful
message. :=] Is it simply a setting in squid.conf that I missed (i.e.
a password) ? The only mention I could find is in the INSTALL file,
which simply states to copy it into my server's cgi-bin.

I'd be very grateful for any and all hints, clues, pointers, or
solutions.
