I believe Linux 1.2 has a broken mmap(), which is fixed in 2.0. I could be
wrong, but its certainly an assumption I've made when configuring e.g. inn.
Other people may know for sure.

Despite the above, I would say so. Forcing people to upgrade for the latest
software to work is reasonable.
