I am also interested in the effects. There doesn't seem to be a "char"
limit on the number of acl's. I work for a large ISP in South Africa,
and we have to have a large number of ACL's, due to the fact that we
want to not give access to numerous class C's in our various Class B's.

We thus have 300 (yes, exactly) acl rules, auto generated by a script...

Is there a significant speed decrease? I am not sure. The machine
is not loaded at the moment, so requests that are in the cache are answered
almost immediately...
