Selective chaching based on MIME types?

Hi,

I am investigating ways of reducing network costs. One way I thought of
was to disallow requests for graphics and sound objects at the proxy /
cache server which is running Squid Cache 1.0.10. In other words, can
Squid be configured to avoid retreiving large binary files?

Is there any way to configure Squid Cache to only serve documents of type
text/plain or text/html?
