diffent time zone

Hi,
how can I get squid to show the time that is being shown by the command
'date' rather than the GMT time? Currently, date gives
Fri Sep 6 12:02:04 MET DST 1996

while squid uses
Generated Friday, 06-Sep-96 10:02:35 GMT, by squid-ftpget/1.0.12

Any ideas?
