cache hierarchy question

Hi,

Does the following configuration make sense?

                proxy1 proxy2
                
        
child1 child2 child3 child4 child6 child7

Each of the child's have the following cache_host entries:

cache_host proxy1 parent .....
cache_host proxy2 parent .....

Does this provide a certain level of load balancing and fault tolerance?
What would happen, if one of the parents fails e.g proxy1 (the child's have 'inside_firewall none')?
Are they using proxy2 as the parent if proxy1 fails?
If both parents are running, does this configuration ditribute the load to the two parents?
