Way to get logs without SIGUSR1

Hi,
i am doing a daily cache-stat so i want to save logs at lets say 23:58 or
something. Problem i have is the SIGUSR1 to squid at 23:58 because
at this time we have still a lot of traffic and the 30 seconds (or timeout) of
non availability of the squid is not that what i want. Isnt there
any other way of closing/reopening the log files ?
