yeah, I was astounded at that. Their server is broken, as it should
definitely return at least an HTTP status code to an HTTP/1.0 request.
(and it is taking it as an HTTP/1.0 request, I could send extra things)

(We're probably going to see more and more of this brokenness as time
goes on, which is a problem when we're trying to use all the info
we can get to cache things properly.)
