Running two squids on the same machine on the same port address is
normaly not possible. A better solution to restart a crashed squid is a
small script that checks very minute if squid is still alive - either via
looking at the process table or by checking whether the squid port is
still reachable or not. Two squids on one machine do not help when the
complete machine crashes :-) Best solution is using two maschine. However
it might not be easy to migrate the proxy service on the fly from one
machine to the backup server so that no user will notice the change.
