Well Thanks squidders for everything

But I still have sometimes freezing problems sometimes forking !

I like to emphazise that :

- 256 RAM ( I have currently 60 RAM empty) so no RAM PB running on Linux 2.0.30
- My link to the internet is 128 k (only)
- 2 cache running (one is 13 GB of HD) (squid 1.1.10)
- dnsserver is OK (I have somtimes up to 15 dnsserver running)
- in my cache,log, I have a lot of
97/05/15 18:59:16| icpDetectClientClose: ERROR 194.126.43.14: (32) Broken pipe

- I saw a patch From Duane Wessels to correct the HELP!! IP Cache is overflowing!. I am testing it
- I increase the ip cache

Any Help will be appreciated

dnsserver seems to fail, does nameresolving work ok?

You can test dnsserver like this:

root@dec:/usr/local/squid/bin# dnsserver
www.microsoft.com
$name www.microsoft.com
$h_name www.microsoft.com
$h_len 4
$ipcount 12
207.68.137.56
207.68.156.49
207.68.137.53
207.68.156.58
207.68.156.16
207.68.156.61
207.68.156.54
207.68.156.53
207.68.137.62
207.68.156.52
207.68.137.59
207.68.156.51
$aliascount 0
$end

Do you really need 25 dnsservers? If you need that much dnsservers it means
resolving is slow.
Try running a local nameserver or increase your ipcache.
