I presume Linux and ext2fs up there, that's what I run here.
And you should be very safe:

Filesystem Inodes IUsed IFree %IUsed Mounted on
/dev/md1 1005568 206781 798787 21% /var/spool/cache

Filesystem 1024-blocks Used Available Capacity Mounted on
/dev/md1 3881854 3262606 579080 85% /var/spool/cache

I'd suggest to run the cache on a RAID0 (MD) device if you use both
4.5 GB disks and use the no_atime patch and option. Speedups are
very impressive from the RAID0 at least.
