FTP proxying.

Greetings,

I remember a question of a somewhat similar nature was asked a few weeks
ago - but wasn't really clarified... is there an FTP client program
(Linux/UNIX) that is Proxy aware?

Is it possible? Parsing each line of user input and translating to a Squid
compatible fashion? ie. "ls" to "GET blah blah balh" or something similar?
Or have I lost the plot completely? :)
