Why (32) Broken Pipe under Solaris 2.5.1 ????

Hi,
  Running squid-1.NOVM.17 under Solaris 2.5.1 with latest recommended patches.
However, many many connections are failing with (32) Broken pipe. Turning off
proxies in netscape and clicking reload proves the site is actually up.
  From looking at the source it would seem that errno is being set to 32
during the connect(). However, this errno is not supposed to happen during
connect()?
  I've managed to make our cache at least useful by defining RETRY_CONNECT, but
has anyone any idea why this is happening? Cheers.
