squid bandwidth-limited?

Hi folks,

my 1.2b12 seems to be bandwidth-limited in that squid-to-client transfer
rate is always around 4KB/s.
This is a frontend cache using a 1.1.20 parent running on Solaris 2.5.1 ISS.
Funny thing: DELAY_HACK is NOT compiled in and using 1.1.20 this doesn't
happen (transfer rates some 100Ks).

Any clues?
