RE: a broken FTP site

doc seems to be an internal wu-ftpd alias to pub/doc on their box. So
replace the doc with pub/doc in the URL and you will be fine. I think
their FTP server is a little broken - it will accept cd doc/pcnet
followed by a get, but not a get with the full pathname (with or without
initial /). If they put in a symbolic link, life would be simpler.

So,

 ---> RETR doc/pcnet/compression
550 doc/pcnet/software: No such file or directory.

But

 ---> CWD doc/pcnet
250 CWD command successful.

and then

 ---> RETR compression
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for compression (20745 bytes).
226 Transfer complete.
