Doing what I should have done in the first place, I have gone through the
VM connection retry patch and surrounded all its changes with "#ifdef
RETRY_PATCH". This makes it simpler to turn the patch on and off.
The new ifdef'd patch for VM Squid is located at
<ftp://ftp.comshare.com/pub/squid/retry-1.1.20-ifdef.patch>
The name of the define is "RETRY_PATCH". When the patch is applied to
1.1.20, it is turned on. To turn it off after you apply it, edit
src/Makefile and comment out "-DRETRY_PATCH".
I'm working on an ifdef'd NOVM version, when that's done it will be in
<ftp://ftp.comshare.com/pub/squid/retry-1.NOVM.20-ifdef.patch>.
