squid dying

Hi,

I have the problem that squid dies after a few hours. The process is
still there, and looks the same as usual. A kill -HUP doesn�t help
anything, and i don�t see anything in cache.log. The system is running
on Linux 2.0.32. Is there a way to find how/why it dies? and of course
to prevent this?
Of course this is a little less information, but I�m really new to
squid, and didn�t find anything in the FAQ or Users-Guide.
