The problem here is that in some browsers a download of a text/plain
file is not a raw copy. text/plain is subject to end-of-line and
characterset translations, which application/octet-stream is not.
It is fairly easy to extend Squid with additional mime-types if needed.
In 1.2 it is even runtime configurable (including icons).
