greetings
here's a problem i've been having since i upgraded our server to version
1.2 of squid. i've emailed this list about this problem before, but more
information is at hand ..
when i visit a page with internet explorer 4 on the mac (insert
anti-microsloth comments here) that has temporarily or permanetly moved, i
get the wonderful error message "unable to load <url>".
all was working with ie4 perfectly until i upgraded to 1.2 :(
so .. has anything changed across versions that might affect what squid
returns for 301/302's ? if i knew C i'd look - bit i don't <sobs>
following is two example of problem pages ..

-- and on to another problem... before i upgraded we were running 1.1.20. suddenly pages were starting half way through the html code, but hitting reload generally fixed the problem. i asked this list and was asked if my parent cache was running version 1.2 of squid. i checked, they were, i upgraded to 1.2 and the problem went away. recently it's come back and they're running a version of squid that i can't get a hold of - one with in house modifications. so.. is this a known problem - can different versions of 1.2 talk to each other - or might it be some other problem? many thanks. | "More pressure than Rob Roy : Byron Jones | || with a new sword." : Communications Manager || || byronj@nd.edu.au : Notre Dame University || | http://www.nd.edu.au/byronj/ : Fremantle, Australia |Received on Mon Apr 13 1998 - 23:07:39 MDT
