user authentication

I am currently working to set up proxying via squid 1.1.22 for office
internet access. Is there a way of forcing user authentication to time
out so that users do not log in initially and leave their browser
session running all day? The intention of this is so monitoring of
access is conducted against different individual users instead of
several users going through the one authentication.
