Sanitized logs from CA*netII cache available

Sanitized log files from the CA*netII (Canada's coast to coast broadband
research network) parent cache are now being made available for analysis.
The gzipped squid access logs for the past 20 days will available from

    http://ardnoc41.canet2.net/cache/squid/rawlogs/

Each day at around midnight a new access log for the previous day will
appear in this directory named

    access.YYYY-MM-DD.gz

Note that due to an initialization problem, there are two logs for
November 10th: access.1998-11-10a.gz (part 1) and access.1998-11-10.gz
(for the latter part of the day).

This sequence of log files may be especially useful for longer term
trend analysis since the IP number hiding that I've developed assigns
a fake but unique fully qualified name to each unique client seen in
the log. The system keeps track of these assignments in a private
database so to that the name substitutions are consistent from day to
day. So for example, you can safely concatinate logs for any number
of days and be sure that hidden8.ca from one day is the same machine
as hidden8.ca on any other day.
