External Auth

Arjan,

I am wondering, if it would be possible to pass the entire
authentication structure to the external authentication process??

The external auth process should then pass back the authentication
structure. If any modifications are made, this should then replace the
authentication structure in squid.

The situation I am thinking of is the following. At QUT we are
looking at implementing a Java-Applet that will authenticate users for
access for the entire Internet access methods (something like single
sign-on). The external authentication process will be able to access
client IP's which have authenticated and the associated username and
password. The external program can then populate the authentication
structure with the appropriate details. However, if these details are not
available, the external process simply returns "- -" for the username and
password and the normal authentication process is assumed. ie. ask the
browser.

Let me know what you think...

Thanks,
