I see no advantage in doing a round robin, as long as squid doesn't
pipeline the requests, and there may be some (very minor) advantage
in that only the dirty pages of the first few redirectors actually
remain in the working set.

About the only reason for doing a round robin would be if one server
could fail in such a way as to accept a request then timeout.
