This is actually an invalid request as it is an HTTP 0.9 request
using a feature first introduced with HTTP 1.0 proxies.

The correct HTTP 0.9 request would be:

telnet www.somedomain.com 80
GET /

If it supports HTTP 1.0:

telnet cache.someotherdomain.com 3128
GET http://www.somedomain.com/ HTTP/1.0
