Unfortunately there is no such listing except the source combined with
the documentation to your OS. Most Squid errors (like clientReadRequest
below) only reports the error Squid got from the OS when trying to
perform a I/O operation.

Your OS is probably out of some kind of socket related memory resource
(mbufs or whatever).

Looks like Squid has lost the error code here. Squid 1.X has some bad
habits with error codes...

Try upgrading to a "supported" version. Squid 1.X is end-of-lifetime and
no further fixes for Squid 1.X will be provided (not by me anyway, and
probably not by the NLANR people either).
