Squid, Caldera & Firewall

Dear All,

I am new user of squid, and I am using Caldera Open Linux 1.3 to replace
our NT Server because NT always crash.

some questions that I need to know :
1. Does squid run on Caldera Open Linux 1.3 (with LibC, not glibC).
Because I only know squid for glibc RedHat
2. Does Squid act as a firewall? is there firewall feature in squid?
3. Is there any sugestion for firewall software on Linux?

Please, I need your help, because our office need to throw away NT
immediately and replace all the functionality to Linux.
