is a patch against Squid 2.2 STABLE3 which:

1) changes the default TTL used for multicasting the list of 'cache
miss' URLs from 128 to 16 - probably what you want for a Squid cache
which can see the global MBONE,

and

2) adds a squid.conf directive 'mcast_miss_ttl' which you can use to
set a different multicast TTL for these packets

Only tested under RedHat 6.0, so YMMV :-)
