Simply monitor where your students go - you'll soon find out what sites to
lock out

Subject: Net content filtering

Hi all,

I am tying to install a web-filtering firewall on school's network
on a Redhat 6.0 (Kernel 2.2.9) with Squid 2.2STABLE.

The mail aim we are trying to achieve is to block out porn sites
and such from student access. We are a K12 education institution, and the
Computing teacher requested for it. Instead of paying some $$$ for
products like a yearly subscription to CyberPatrol.

I would appreciate help with the general direction though. I took
down SquidGuard and tried to set it up without success. I installed the
Berkeley DB with success, compiled ok SquidCache, but ended up with
"segmentation fault" when I tried to run it.

Otherwise, if someone has success with something else, and could
help giving me some pointers in setting it up will be much appreciated.

Anyone can give me a head-start to where to get blacklists of porn
sites and such ?

        Thanks in advance.
