i gave it a try with ibm's CC 3.6.4 - it has became even worse.
squid now dumps core every 40 seconds or the like, it can't even
finish reading its swaplog entries. also tried egcs-1.1.2 - absolutely
the same effect :(
unfortunately, 2.8.1 won't compile anything on 4.3.2.0,
so we need to use egcs.
