page updates

I'm running Squid Version 2.2.STABLE4 as a transparent cache behind a
Foundry layer 4 switch.
I have gotten quite a few calls from customers who host their sites on
severs outside my network, complaining about not being able to see updates
made to their sites. Netscape or IE get a copy of the old page, not even
"shift reload" works. Now, if I use a computer that is not using the cache
I see the updated page just fine. What could the problem be ?
