Randomly Squid stops running for some seconds..

Hi there,

I'm currently running Squid 2.2 STABLE 5 on a Pentium II 266 Mhz 128 Mb RAM,
RedHat 6.1. Randomly but very often Squid stops running correctly and hangs
for a few seconds. I recompiled the source without "async-io" but nothing
changed.
My configuration directives are the following:
--prefix=/usr/local/squid
--enable-gnuregex
--enable-poll
--enable-delay-pools

I've also noticed that every time that Squid hangs there is a "ftpDataRead:
read error: (104) Connection reset by peer" in the cache.log. I don't know
if it's a simple coincidence.

Any hints?
