storeSwapInFileOpened (not the FAQ)

I am getting a LOT of messages along the lines of:

2000/01/13 09:49:50| storeSwapInFileOpened:
/var/local/proxy-cache/00/CE/0000CE17: Size mismatch: 0(fstat) !=
424(object)

494 in the past 4 days. It all started when I accidentally started squid
while an old squid was still running (squid -k thingy wasn't working,
possibly because squid.pid was owned by "root", not "squid").

My question is: should I delete the cache and start again? Or should I
(continue to) sweat it out and hope it resolves itself over time?
