Cache_host_domain

Does anyone know the limitations of cache_host_domain???

I have set up one of my caches to send all requests for a certain domain to one
of its parents.
All is well until a request to POST information is sent, it then ignores the
cache_host_domain config and tries to process the request itself........
does anyone know why it is doing this???
