Hi

We run squid in a small environment on redhat 6.0 We need to have this box talk
to a different socks5 server.

I have compiled squid using the macro

 env CFLAGS="-g -O2 -Wall -DSOCKS" LIBS="-lsocks5" ./configure --enable-snmp
--enable-gnuregex

Squid compiles ok and is usable via the "old" setup (fw)

I have created a libsocks5.conf in /usr/local/etc with the following contents:

socks5 - - - - <ip address socks server>

However, no luck. Using squid we cannot acces the Internet via the socks5
server; netscape sessions timeout.

Anybody a clue ?

thanks
