Squid trying to send DNS queries to broadcast address?

I get a lot of these messages in Squid's cache.log:

2000/03/22 11:58:27| idnsSendQuery: FD 1: sendto: (13) Permission denied
2000/03/22 11:58:43| comm_udp_sendto: FD 1, 255.255.255.255, port 53: (13)
Permission denied
2000/03/22 11:58:43| idnsSendQuery: FD 1: sendto: (13) Permission denied
2000/03/22 12:06:49| comm_udp_sendto: FD 1, 255.255.255.255, port 53: (13)
Permission denied
2000/03/22 12:06:49| idnsSendQuery: FD 1: sendto: (13) Permission denied

They're not documented anywhere, and I couldn't find any reference to them
in the archives or in the documentation. Anyone seen them before?

DNS is working properly here, but I'm behind a NAT'ing ADSL router. Could
that be it?

Regards,
