well, you can read: squid assumes the default 'cc' will not be able to
build.
We too have the same compiler, level 3.1.4.10. You should install gcc 2.95.2
first, which can be built with the standard 'cc'.
After installing gcc, squid's 'configure' will recognize it and use 'gcc'
instead.
