Problem with refresh_pattern

Hi all,
I have squid Squid Version 2.2.STABLE4 in my slackware box, and configured
with refresh_pattern like this :
refresh_pattern . 1440 90% 10080 \
override-expire ignore-reload reload-into-ims
When I try moving to earlier version eg. Squid 2.3.STABLE1, I can't get
this refresh_pattern option work as usually (although I take configuration
from squid 2.2.STABLE4)

Question :
1. How I get TCP_REFRESH_HIT, or TCP_IMS_HIT with squid 2.3.STABLE1 ?
2. Is my squid.conf goes wrong ?
