Hello,

I've got two questions regarding Squid version 2.3.STABLE2.

(1) I'm starting Squid thru an init.d startup script with the command:
su - squid -c /usr/local/squid/bin/squid -k
I receive the message: "Starting squid server; mesg: can not change
mode"
The squid server starts and runs ok.
What is meant by "mesg: can not change mode and how can I eliminate this
message"?

(2) In a previous version of Squid I enabled the lines:
              cache_dns_program /usr/local/squid/bin/dnsserver
              dns_children 5
When I enable the above lines with version 2.3STABLE2, I get the
following message:
    "parseConfigFile: line 612 unrecognized: cache_dns_program
/usr/local/squid/bin/dnsserver"
    "parseConfigFile: line 622 unrecognized: dns_children 5 "
The dnsserver exists in /usr/local/squid/bin. Can I still use the
cache_dns_program with the new Squid version and how?

Thank you in advance,

-pat
