RE: redirectors

the virus scanning redirector will only work on .exe, com, zip, tgz, etc..
type of files.. ones that can contain viruses... all others would not be
redirected... and would be fetched by squid...

these files would be scanned then saved locally... and kept there.. say in
our ftp dir...

the redirector virus scanner would check to see if the file has been
downloaded before... and would give the local url without downloading the
file... much like squid.

i know it would not be as fast as squid, but it is for a small company who
wants virus protection more then speed, and cost saving on data as well.
