It is not possible to have the browsers do proxy authentication when you
run a transparent proxy.

Sure, you can hack Squid to attempt to do it, but the browsers will not
accept to do so.

Face it: when you run a "transparent" proxy you are violating basic
assumptions of TCP/IP and you have to sacrifice some functionality
because of this. End of story.
