[SQU] Squid on Mandrake 7 Update...

Hello again,

Just to recap, I got squid working fine on Mandrake. I just had to run squid
-z

Well, I've recently run into another problem. Squid refuses to run. I've
been able to get it to run on rare occasions which I don't know how or why
it runs those rare times.

I took a peek at /var/log/messages and this is what I found

Dec 10 06:25:04 localhost (squid): Cannot open /var/log/squid/access.log:
(13) Permission denied
Dec 10 06:25:04 localhost squid[821]: Squid Parent: child process 847 exited
with status 1
Dec 10 06:25:04 localhost squid[821]: Exiting due to repeated, frequent
failures

I've tried everything. I've even tried reinstalling squid. I don't know what
went wrong. (Squid was working great the first time I ran it but after I
started doing stuff like reading /var/log/squid/cache.log and emptying the
file and saving it things started acting weird).

ANY help would be appreciated.
