[SQU] NTLM and subnets

Do people know if any of the NT authenticators work across subnets?
I guess, in other words, can they support the concept of a WINS server for the
NetBIOS name resolution?
Or failing that, is it possible to bypass the NetBIOS resolution, and indicate
the server to talk to with an IP address?
