if u are using Linux.. like i said in one other thread, u don't need to configure ya chat clients.. such as MSN, ICQ, and yes Yahoo Messenger.... Linux's transparent Masqiing will take care of that... all you're worried abt is HTTP going through Squid..all otehr protocols will be handled by your IPCHAINS or IPTABLES or IPFW Masqing features... Yahoo Messenger does not go over your HTTP, rather only your IE and Netscape requests do... so u don't need to setup any proxy configs in your Yahoo Messenger's proxy configs....
