Or you can use the client program with the mgr: protocol, eg

        /squid/bin/client mgr:storedir

which, I think is exactly what cachemgr.cgi does anyway. You can find out
from cachemgr.cgi, the appropriate replacements for "storedir" for the
other statistics.
