[squid-users] what is the difference of cache

hi all gurus

is there any difference, between one disk large for cache
or different

i have two setup
one

cache_dir ufs /var/spool/squid/cache1 3000 16 256
cache_dir ufs /var/spool/squid/cache2 4000 16 256
cache_dir ufs /var/spool/squid/cache3 4000 16 256
cache_dir ufs /var/spool/squid/cache4 4000 16 256
cache_dir ufs /var/spool/squid/cache5 4000 16 256

two
cache_dir ufs /var/spool/squid/cache1 12000 16 256

but i see the second serve greate

can some one recomend me what is the best
iam using RPM
