[squid-users] What Proxy-Protocol does squid use ?

Hello there,

I have an application which accesses the internet via proxy. In the
Proxy-Settings I can choose "Socks V4" or "Socks V5". What should I use ?
My Proxy is squid 2.3-STABLE4.

And there is an Option "Proxy Server will perform DNS". How can I find out
wether my proxy does this ?
