[squid-users] Squid 2.3.Stable4 vs Apache 1.3.22 on RH 7.1

I have the default settings for both Squid 2.3Stable4 cache server and
Apache 1.3.22 running on a Penguin Dual 1.2 Ghz with 2 Gig of Memory.
(2) nics, one on the internal network, one on the ISDN line to the web.

For testing purposes I have (1) users running Netscape 4.77 from the
server.

I have found that Apache w/proxy is much faster than squid.

From what I have been reading this should not be true what should I be
looking for to speed squid up.

All suggestions and comments appreciated.
