RE: [squid-users] smb_auth not working yet

I'm reading up on the funciton of a PDC. But this is what I don't
understand: Could my NT network be set up with NO PDC? I know that we don't
have a BDC. But we have about 60-80 users who log into and use our NT
network each day, using the same login names and passwords that I'm trying
to use to authenticate with smb_auth.

I'm still getting the ERR response when I try smb_auth from the command
line. And I did get squid to run--it asks for username and password. But I
get the 407 error (Cache Access Denied).

the comand seems to be right. maybe you're using a user/password that does
not exists in the PDC.

try to create a user in PDC for a test.

after the command, you should type user <enter> and password <enter>
