[squid-users] RE: winbind/PAM problem - pam_auth

Thanks for that, Kinkie. Having researched things in a little more depth I
cam see it is your winbind helper which is the key for me here.

I have a small problem though in that when I try and generate the configure
file I get this:

[root@manila squid-dev]# ./bootstrap.sh
aclocal: configure.in: 27: macro `AM_PROG_CC_C_O' not found in library
aclocal failed
Autotool bootstrapping failed. You will need to investigate and correct
before you can develop on this source tree
[root@manila squid-dev]#

I am running RedHat 7.2 with a full install and I cannot see any gcc
libraries or packages I have not installed. I have also had a good look
through all the docs for automake/autoconf but cannot track down this
reference or find it defined in the Squid source tree.

Please help me out here - I am stuck.

BTW: The syntax is fine : acl ukpassword proxy_auth uk+"domain users" - uk
is my NT domain, '+' is my winbind separator and the space necessitates the
quotes.

cheers
Noel

Why would you want to do that? There are (will be) helpers both
for NTLM and Basic authentication that talk directly to winbindd.

This is one weird syntax.. Does it work?

It does require a full compile, but you don't need to re-install
all of squid. Once it's compiled, move the helper
bin in squid libexec dir, and alter the squid.conf accordingly.
